Coach Santos

Mayerlin Santos is an attacker from Delaware State University. She just completed her sophomore year. Her lacrosse career started her freshmen year at Plantation high school where she was captain for three years. While playing for her high school she started playing travel. She also played for the Blue Roses Lacrosse Team.

Her coaching philosophy is: I believe that it all comes from your heart and mentality . I also believe that it is my job to help players build their love for the sport. I want them to be able to experience the happiness and excitement I feel every time I step on the field and play. I want the love for the game to be contagious. Mentality is also another factor that I believe as a coach is very important. Not only to have a winning mentality but to help players have confidence in themselves and their abilities. I will push them and encourage them every step of the way. I don’t want to help just one player, I want to help the team achieve these two things. For everyone to be on the same page. Loving the game and wanting to win, not just for themselves but for each other. I believe this is key to having a great team and season.

Sarai’s coaching philosophy is: I believe that the sport of lacrosse can provide many opportunities to meet so many new people, travel and create great connections with others. Playing this sport has taught me that the shared love and drive for the game is what continues to help improve athletes and continue to grow the game itself. I feel a deep responsibility to help grow the game and sport in areas where lacrosse is not well known. I am passionate about sharing that love and discipline I have for the sport with others and provide them with knowledge that will stick with them on and off the field.
